Terminology
Updated September 23, 2026
What this does
LogMyRepair.app is built for automotive repair but runs small-engine, marine, RV, equipment, and bike shops too, and those shops don't say "vehicle" and "VIN." The Terminology card on Settings → Shop Profile lets you set the singular and plural for Asset, Work Order, Bay, and Technician, plus the labels for VIN and Mileage. Every screen, menu, and printed document uses your words from then on.
Steps
Fill in the pairs you want changed (leave the rest at their defaults): Asset → Boat / Boats, Bay → Slip / Slips, VIN label → HIN, Mileage label → Hours. Save. The sidebar and page titles update on the next load; documents print with the new terms.
What it doesn't change
The help center, which uses the defaults. Accounting terms (invoice, payment, vendor, account), which are fixed. Item types on a line (part, labor, sublet). Data: renaming Asset to Boat doesn't touch any record; it changes the label.
Common problems
Some screen still says Vehicle. Report it; every customer-facing label is meant to resolve through terminology, and one that doesn't is a bug, not a setting.
Plural is wrong. Both forms are yours to set; the app doesn't add an "s" on its own.
