What customers see when they book

What this does

Your booking page at /book/<slug> walks a customer through three steps and creates an appointment on your schedule. This article is what happens on their side, so the counter knows what a booked customer expects.

The three steps

Select a Service — the active service options, with descriptions.

Pick a Date & Time — a week view of the days you're open, with Available Times for the chosen day. Blocked times and full slots don't appear. Days beyond your advance-booking window aren't offered.

Your Information — First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone (required if you've set it so), and Notes ("Describe your issue or any special requests").

On Book Appointment they see Appointment Booked! with your confirmation message.

What happens on your side

The app looks for an existing customer by the email entered. A match is reused; no match creates a new Individual customer with the name, email, and phone given. An appointment is created with status Scheduled, the service name as the title, and the notes. It appears on Sales → Schedule immediately. A booking_created event fires for any automation you've set up to acknowledge bookings.

Nothing is emailed or texted to the customer by the booking itself; the confirmation is on-screen. Set up an automation if you want a confirmation message sent.

Common problems

A regular customer booked and now there are two records. They used a different email. Booking matches on email only. Keep the record with history and use it going forward.

A booking arrived for a time we're closed. Check business hours and blocked times under Settings → Booking; the page offers only what those allow, so a slot outside them means the settings were changed after the booking.

The customer says they never got a confirmation. They saw one on screen; nothing is sent unless an automation does it.
