Bulk Apply Deposits

What this does

When the bank feed delivers a week of credits, opening each one is slow. Documents & Intelligence → Bulk Apply Deposits lists every pending money-in credit with the app's best guess at what it is ("Undeposited payments most likely making up this credit") and lets you confirm or correct each, then posts the lot in one request.

Steps

  1. For each credit, either accept the suggested match, Pick a customer… and Match an open invoice…, or choose an offset account for non-customer money (Unidentified payer if you don't know yet). A credit that is the bank side of a deposit slip you already posted is matched to the slip so nothing double-posts.
  2. Optionally set a Deposit type.
  3. Post. Each row goes through the same action the one-at-a-time drawer uses, with the same guards: role, lock date, revenue-recognition, idempotency. A row that fails reports its reason without blocking the others.

What happens in the books

Same as a deposit line of the same kind: an invoice match clears receivables (creating the payment if it wasn't recorded), a non-AR match credits the chosen account, and the bank is debited by the feed.

Common problems

"Nothing to post — pick a customer match or an offset account first." A row is unassigned. Every row needs one or the other.

The suggestion is wrong. Suggestions come from amount and timing against Undeposited Funds; two similar payments can swap. Check the customer before posting.
