SMS and email setup
Updated September 23, 2026
What this does
Texting needs a phone number the shop owns; that's a Twilio account. Email is sent for you from the app's transactional sender with your shop name and branding, and needs no setup. The review link used in review requests is set once.
Before you start
Owner or General Manager. A Twilio account with a purchased number.
Steps
Twilio. Settings → Integrations → SMS (Twilio). Enter the Account SID, Auth Token, and the Phone Number in E.164 form (+18065551234). Save, then test the connection. Inbound texts to that number (replies, START, STOP) route to your inbox and update consent automatically; Twilio's webhook is configured for you.
Email. Nothing to configure. Estimates, invoices, statements, receipts, and template emails go out under your shop name with your logo from Settings → Appearance. Customer replies go to the shop email on your profile.
Review link. Settings → Appearance → Google review link. Paste your review link once. Review-request templates and the review band in customer emails read it from there.
To send review requests automatically, build an automation on Invoice Paid with the Request Google Review action; see Automations. The Reviews & Reminders toggle under Integrations is stored but doesn't send anything on its own today.
Common problems
Test connection fails. SID or token is wrong, or the number isn't on that account. Copy them again from the Twilio console.
Texts send but replies don't arrive. The Twilio number's inbound webhook isn't pointed at the app. Re-save the Twilio settings; if it persists, contact support.
Customers say emails land in spam. Ask them to add the sender to contacts; the sending domain is authenticated, but a new shop name has no reputation yet.
