PartsTech quotes

What this does
With PartsTech connected, the Source Part panel on a vehicle work order can open PartsTech with the vehicle already selected, take the cart back as a quote, and turn the quote into work order lines and a parts order in one review step. Connecting the account is under PartsTech; this article is the day-to-day use.
Before you start
PartsTech connected under Settings → Integrations, parts_orders.create, and a work order whose asset is a vehicle (year, make, model); the button doesn't appear on non-vehicle jobs.
Steps
Get Quotes — PartsTech in the Source Part panel opens PartsTech in a new window with the vehicle loaded. Build the cart there and check out; PartsTech hands the cart back and the panel shows "Quote received".
Review the quote. Each line shows PartsTech's Cost, List price, Qty, and the resulting GP%. Set the customer price per line; it defaults from list and can be changed.
Transfer to work order. The line you sourced from takes the first quote line (if that line was still Not needed, Needed, or Quoted; a line already pulled or ordered is left alone and a new line is added instead). Remaining quote lines are added as new part lines at the prices you set, cost from the quote, sourcing Quoted. The quote itself becomes a parts order in Needed on the board, vendor set from PartsTech's supplier, with core charges carried over. From there it's an ordinary order: see Parts orders.
Discard throws the quote away and touches nothing on the job.
Quotes that haven't been reviewed stay attached to the work order and show in the panel next time you open it.
What happens in the books
Nothing. The vendor's invoice is a bill when it arrives. Costs land on the job lines for job costing the moment you transfer.
Common problems
Button isn't there. Either PartsTech isn't connected for this shop or the job's asset isn't a vehicle. Both are checked before the button renders.
Supplier shows as a new vendor. The first quote from a PartsTech supplier creates a vendor record under that supplier's name so the order has somewhere to point. Merge it under Vendors if you already had one.
Price rejected on transfer. Customer price must be a number from 0 up to 1,000,000. A blank or negative price stops the whole transfer.
