What this does

LogMyRepair.app runs a service shop end to end: quoting, work orders, scheduling, parts, invoicing, customer messaging, and a full double-entry ledger with bank reconciliation and financial reports. One login covers the counter, the floor, and the books, and each person sees the parts that match their role.

Who each part is for

The Sales area (Estimates, Work Orders, Invoices, Schedule, Messages) is the counter. Service writers and managers live here.

The Service Board and Shop Floor areas are for technicians: what's assigned to them, what's in which bay, inspections, and diagnostics.

Customers & Assets holds every customer, every vehicle or piece of equipment you service, and fleet accounts.

Inventory covers stock on hand and parts orders.

Accounting is the books: money in, money out, banking, the ledger, and reports. It is a real general ledger, not a summary view. Invoices and payments post to it automatically once it is configured.

Settings is where the owner and managers shape the shop: team, roles, bays, canned jobs, booking, messaging, sales tax, integrations, and subscription.

A note on names

LogMyRepair.app is built for more than auto shops. When you pick a shop type during onboarding, the app relabels itself: an auto shop sees Vehicles and Work Orders; an IT shop sees Devices and Service Tickets; an aviation shop sees Aircraft, Hangars, and A&P Mechanics. You can also rename these yourself under Settings → Shop Profile. This manual uses the auto-shop defaults throughout. If your labels differ, the screens and steps are the same.

How to read this manual

Each article covers one screen or one task. Bold text like Sales → Work Orders is the path in the left sidebar. Where an action changes the books, the article says which accounts move. Role badges at the top of each article show who can do what it describes; if you don't see a screen the manual mentions, your role doesn't include it — ask your owner or general manager.
