Registers

What this does
A register is the running list of everything that hit an account. LogMyRepair.app has three:
The account register (Banking Overview → Register on any bank or card row) is the ledger itself. It lists every posted journal-entry line on that account's GL account, whatever screen created it: checks, approved inbox items, deposits, bill payments, transfers, opening balances, asset sale proceeds, and manual journal entries. Each row shows the date, description, Source (what kind of entry it came from), the offset account, the amount in or out, and a running balance. Every row is clickable and drills to the invoice, bill, deposit, or journal entry behind it. This is the register with Edit and Void on each row.
Check Register (Banking → Check Register) is the same ledger view across all checking accounts at once, or one at a time. Read-only.
CC Register (Banking → CC Register) lists card transactions from the card subledger, with Charge and Credit columns and a running balance owed. It's a quick list, not the ledger: for a card's complete posted activity, or to edit or void, use the account register from the Banking Overview.
Before you start
accounting.manage. Registers are read from posted entries, so a transaction saved but not posted (a draft deposit slip, an unapproved inbox row) isn't there yet.
Steps
Pick the Account (or All), set From and To dates (the month to date by default), and Search by description, source, or reference. Export downloads what's on screen.
Reading a checking register: money in is a deposit (a debit to the bank account), money out is a payment (a credit), and the balance runs down the right. Reading a card register: a charge increases what you owe, a payment or credit reduces it.
Rows in grey are voided: either the reversing entry itself or the original it reversed. They stay visible so the audit trail is complete, and net to zero.
Attached Documents on the account register lists any scanned receipt or bill linked to the selected row, with Go to Documents.
What happens in the books
Nothing; registers only read. The one exception is the row menu on the account register, which is where editing and voiding happen.
Common problems
A check I wrote isn't in the register. It was written on an old screen that didn't post to the ledger, or its date is outside the range. Widen the dates first. Checks are written under Money Out → Checks, which always posts.
The CC Register total and the Banking Overview card balance disagree. They read different things. The Banking Overview and the account register are the ledger; use those.
A row shows the offset as "— Split —". The entry hit more than one category account. Click through to see the lines.
Two rows for the same purchase, one grey. That's a void: the original and its reversal. Nothing to fix.
